Real Power

The term 'Real Power' as it applies to the area of energy can be defined as ' The component of electric power that performs work, typically measured in kilowatts (kW) or megawatts(MW)--sometimes referred to as Active Power. The terms 'real' or 'active' are often used to modify the base term 'power' to differentiateit from Reactive Power and Apparent Power. See Apparent Power, Power, Reactive Power'.
